Don't be Dogmatic, be Speculative, How does being Dogmatic differ from being pragmatic.

Updated: May 29, 2021

To be dogmatic is to follow a set of rules, no matter what! These rules might be religious, philosophical, or made up; but dogmatic people are resolute in their beliefs, they are tenacious and persevering, so changing their minds, is almost an impossible task. Dogmatic people don’t leave room open even for speculation. Being dogmatic is not always good. Being a dogmatic person is to follow a set of principles or a doctrine which relates to morals and faith. It demands utter conviction and devotion, without any room for doubt or apprehension. These set of beliefs are passed down from generations and never questioned. Some people look at it at rather condescending that a person has so much belief in facts that are probably unsubstantiated.

The word “Dogmatic” comes from to the Greek word “Dogma”, which basically means, an attitude or philosophy that a person adopts as his way of life, because he believes it to be true. They embrace the values relating to this idea in an unyielding approach. They don’t like anybody questioning their faith either. There are countries that are people, religion, dogmatic in their beliefs. They are so strict in their beliefs they don’t reexamine their viewpoints. They don’t feel the need too. A tyrant is dogmatic. They believe their tyranny is sincerely for the good of their victims. They believe they are actually saving their victims from exploitation. Some don’t believe in the school systems, they believe it’s mind control and they prefer home school methods better.

Someone dogmatic might believe that religion is the cause of most wars or women shouldn't drive or be show their face in public. An atheist who is dogmatic might never believe the existence of god.

Dogmatic people are usually not very popular. Their rigid, unyielding, firm belief can be quiet damaging for their personality. People might try to misinterpret them as inept or clumsy because of their belief in unverified theories. if your dogmatic you follow the rules of the community you chose to follow and probably act like us self-important,

condescending and superior, because that’s what you believe you are. Humility is not a fine quality of a dogmatic person. Dogmatic people cannot disagree that we need much more stability less obstinate ideas, but they are so firm believers they would never do such a thing; they will stick by their rigid principles at any cost. Dogmatic people are most idealistic.

Science dismisses dogma. It arranges the groundwork for the future of change. They don’t believe in “Noah’s Arc” as mentioned in the bible because they feel that’s impossible for survival. Science is a body of organized and structured knowledge; it’s series of methodical and logical experiments in a systematic manner to obtain success. it has no place for emotions, it is purely technology based and science has no place for religion. Science is discovering New science is a process of investigating it's who sing a lot of questions and coming up with a method science involves a lot of reasoning Sciences in a manner a matter of independent thinking and hard work On the contrary a dogmatic person never reasons never questions they just follow the age old traditions; they have blind faith in their beliefs. Science develops more because of all the speculation. Science and technology transform our very existence because of their new inventions. but there is no place for speculation in a dogmatic person’s life. Speculation helps you to assume things, to think freely. But speculation is not good all the time. When to speculate is up to you; I don’t think everything I your life should be up for speculation. Certain things you should be sure off. Speculation is an assumption which is used more in the financial fields and in the field of science and technology. The term speculation is very rarely used in the religion field. Even though religion really does not encourage speculation, they prefer people have blind faith in their holy books, some do speculate. Speculation is not bad, it’s the human mind asking for answers, but these answers are also mere presumption. Human might should always be wondering about the facts that have been handed to them, they should not have any fear of expressing their thoughts or accept these details as some sort of finality.

If you a pragmatic person that means, you are practical person by nature and you're living in the real world. You are a realistic person not a, day-dreamer, who thinks rationally. Logical thinkers are really valued, because they are hardworking a no-nonsense, down-to-earth sensible person. Pragmatic people believe they must work hard to achieve success. pragmatic way to solving a problem is to use the resource available immediately with you and do your level best and then try to solve the larger problem later on; take it step-by-step. Pragmatic people don’t just take anybody’s word for granted; they analyst things properly before accepting the idea. A pragmatist usually as a straightforward matter of fact approach Ignore and doesn't let emotion distract them.

Dogmatism and religion, should not prevent the human mind from gaining more knowledge. Human beings are free thinkers. Human life is a gift; to not put our thinking ability to good use and to restrain it like a dogmatic person does is disappointing. A free thinker or a practical person would not be looked upon as a confused person or with suspicion. Just because your way of thinking is different you cannot force someone to think or act the way you want to; then that becomes a dominant attitude. Life should be based on the truth and facts we face in our day-to-day lives. It's good to have believes, but being a fanatic can be dangerous, believing in superstitions can be precarious, not being able to admit you were wrong can be risk. Practical people tend to play it safe. Sometimes when we think too practically we might end up being too selfish; being emotional is also very good. I find that there is no place for emotions in Dogmatism, Science and Pragmatism; only idealistic way off thinking, technological and systematic way of thinking and just cut and dry method. No place for any kind of feelings.
